Weekend update-Special Edition: The last THREE weekends!

Life got crazy after my last post...here is what's happened!

JUNE 28th:

+Annual Foote Family Reunion (Maelie's first one!)
Eating, visiting, teasing, laughing until we cried, volleyball, rock skipping, ice blocking, and of          course, looking at the Falls. :)
+Maelie's first family picnic was a success...and I didn't even hold her one time all day. She is loved.
+We made this just a day trip for us, but we took an extra person back to Rexburg with us! The Pypes got to spend all week with us!

JUNE 29th:

+Church (Maelie wore the cutest little jean jumper from Oaklie)
+We walked to church because it's been so nice in Rexburg! And yes, Pyper and I got a tiny bit sunburned at the family picnic.
+And I may or may not have let Pyper drive in the church parking lot a few times throughout the week. :-/

JUNE 30th-JULY 2nd:
**Sorry no pictures**
+We introduced Pyper to Karie Anne's (obviously)
+She also had my favorite caramel apple in all the land, from The Caramel Tree in Rigby.
+She went grocery shopping with us multiple times
+She was the Maelie babysitter while I went to work!
+We had movie nights when David was on shift
+Maelie loved getting to play with Pyper all week

JULY 3rd:

+Our weekend started on Thursday with a camping trip!
+We went to a little place maybe 20 minutes away from our apartment (not in the mountains at all)
+Since we weren't in the mountains at all, it was very hot! Maelie was not a happy camper (pun intended) for the first few hours, but after sitting in the car with the A/C on, we decided to take a little stroll down to the river. By the time we got back it had cooled down a TON and she was so happy for the rest of the trip!
+We ate tin foil dinners, played cards, roasted marshmallows, made s'mores and even got rained on!
+David and Kent even mixed up a delicious dutch oven apple crisp for dessert!
+I had to wake Maelie up in the morning so we could pack up camp...that's how well she did!
Most of these camping pictures were taken by Anna---with a professional camera...I'm not that cool!

JULY 4th:

+Camping breakfast was a dutch oven quiche. We might have forgotten a few key ingredients (milk), but it was still very tasty!
+We took down camp and ate breakfast and were out of there by 8:45am
+Our goal was to get to the parade in Rexburg by 10am....we got to the apartment at 9:05, David, Pyper, Maelie and I ALL took showers and were ready and at the parade before it started! I was pretty proud of our time management skills that morning.
+At the parade we saw camels, bagpipers, fire engines, old cars, pageant girls and of course caught all the candy we could! :)
+After the parade we came home and let Maelie take a nap while we cleaned the apartment. Yes we put Pyper to work...she was willing!
+I, of course, started having an allergy attack and needed a nap also. I think Pyper stayed awake and watch a movie, pretty sure David, Maelie and I all slept for a little bit!
+Around 6pm my parents showed up! They came to get Pyper to take her back to Boise.
+We drove out to Menan, Idaho for our 4th of July celebration. They have a park set up with little food trucks out. We got dinner there and cotton candy as big as our upper body. :)
+The fireworks started at about 10:20 and Maelie slept right through them. I was happy and sad about that. I would have loved to watch her watch the big lights, but I was glad she wasn't crying and afraid of the loud noise. Hopefully that's how it goes next year too! :-/

JULY 5th:

+Brunch at a little place in Rexburg
+A visit to the apartments Spencer will be living in this Fall
+A nice nap
+Karie Anne's with mom and dad before they left (Duh...you should know this by now)
+Said bye to Mom, Dad and the Pypes
+Relaxed for the rest of the weekend!

JULY 11th:

+Meagan came to town for Friday and Saturday on her way to Logan for her mission president's homecoming!
+She got to enjoy some alone time with little Miss Maelie
+We went on a little family walk in the evening, but it was pretty close to bedtime for Maelie, so she and David turned around while Meag and I kept walking all the way up to campus so Meagan could see what had changed since she's been away.
+Friday wasn't too eventful honestly...we were just happy for a visitor!

JULY 12th:

This was a pretty lazy, but productive day---WITH NO PICTURES! Dang it.
+We got up and took the crib apart so Meagan could take it back to Boise with her (Thanks Meag!)
+That sent us into a very unorganized packing spree, that didn't last too long, but got us a little bit of motivation.
+After Maelie took a 2 1/2 hour nap (SO AWESOME), we went on a hunt for boxes and church shoes for Meagan.
+We were successful!
+The minute we got home we all changed into our swimming suits, sunscreened up and went to Monkey Rock! It's a little waterfall and swimming place by the river about 25 minutes away from Rexburg.
+Maelie just cried for the first 30 minutes. We think she was overly tired and she hated the swim diaper we put on her. The minute that was off and she had a normal diaper on she crashed hard. I didn't get to swim, but it was so worth it to have a sleeping baby on my chest. :)
+We came home and ate some dinner and, OF COURSE, took Meagan and Carrie to Karie Anne's. They enjoyed it, probably not as much as me, but still.
+Meagan was leaving to drive to Logan early in he morning so we went to bed at a decent hour so she wouldn't be too sleepy.

JULY 13th:

+9:30 church as usual (it was our 2nd to last Sunday in our ward....crazy!)
+We had all sorts of Visiting Teaching and Home Teaching appointments after church so we were pretty busy until about 4pm.
+We did manage to watch Germany win the World Cup final.
+Cyndi and Carrie came over for dinner and a visit
+FaceTime with Grandpa Mercedes and finalized some last minute plans for his visit next week!

David is graduating on Wednesday! He has three tests left to take (one today, one Monday and one Tuesday!) I may or may not have written his last paper of his college career for him last night. We are so excited for his dad and brother to come spend the week with us AND his Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Rudy, Grandma Anita and Aunt DeeDee! I've never met Aunt DeeDee, and none of them have every met Maelie so we are excited for a reason to get everyone together. :) That will all be part of next week's post....but we are moving to Boise next weekend so I make not promises on WHEN it will be posted!
