The last 6 months---A Brief Update

So maybe in the last 6 months I haven't posted a single thing---my bad.
So maybe in the last 6 months I have often visited my blog (as if I weren't the author), thinking something would magically be updated----pathetic.
So maybe in the last 6 months I became a college graduate (kinda)---I'm currently student teaching.
So maybe in the last 6 months David got accepted to and started the BYU-Idaho Paramedic program and loves it.---this program lasts three semesters in Rexburg, then we'll move to Oklahoma City for an internship next fall.
So maybe in the last 6 months the Dominguez sisters moved to Rexburg and we love having them here.--Cyndi is going to Paul Mitchell and Carrie is working for Bonneville School District.
So maybe in the last 6 months I threw up more times than I have since I was an infant (sorry that was gross).
So maybe in the last 6 months I've gained a little bit of weight. .
So maybe in the last 6 months we learned that the last two things are to be blamed on a small human growing inside of me (made it all worth it)---I'M PREGNANT!

And that is what has been happening in our life lately.
I found out I was pregnant at about 4 weeks (May 17th to be exact)
I was sick until about 14 weeks.
We found out at 19 weeks we're having a sweet baby girl.
I've gained 18lbs as of my 28wk appointment.
I'll be 30 weeks on Monday.
My next appointment is Nov. 15th--then I start going every two weeks!
Her official due date is January 13th. Her Grandpa Dominguez's birthday is Jan. 17th and I told him I'd try to keep my legs crossed until then---I'm so thoughtful. ;)
Although I told Grandpa D that, I'm recently experiencing horrible uncomfortable sleep, constant back pain and the usual third trimester symptoms....so I probably won't really try to do that.

We are happy, we are healthy and we are SO close to major changes in our lives. AND our second anniversary is in 9 days! :)

28 weeks and crazy hair.

A Bridal Shower for Audrey

On my dad's side of the family, my cousin Audrey is closest to me in age. We like to call ourselves "best cousins". She is two years younger than me and often refers to herself as "your baby cousin". I love that. I love the memories that we have, including but not limited to, camping with Granny and Papa every summer, writing and illustrating our own book about a doughnut shop, How the West Was Fun, playing all sorts of creative games at the Foote Family Reunions, many Christmas Eve's and Thanksgivings together, hiding from our parents when they came to pick us up after a day of playing, late night chats while having sleepovers on Granny and Papa's family room floor, laughing until we cry (it's genetic), after high school growing even closer, merging friendships (the Brookester), dating woes, I found my love, I got married and she found her love on that same day :) and now it's her turn to get married...and she just so happens to be marrying one of my best friends from high school and I couldn't be happier for them!

Since this wedding is happening in just 26 short days, we (the Clint Foote women) threw Audrey a bridal shower in Boise. She has great friends that threw her one in Utah and we (meaning I) volunteered to do one for her Boise entourage to shower her with love. We played games (thanks Reaga and Budge), we ate delicious food (thanks Mom!) and we had the time of our lives (thanks everyone who came!), or at least I did!

Here are some pictures of that fun day to celebrate Audrey and Brock's love.
Pyper's project for the shower= "A & B" skewers. :)

Audrey's best paper doll version of Brock, with a fur vest on :) (He's on cloud-9)
Each person drew a wedding dress and some sort of white material (including dental floss, q-tips and toilet paper). Then we all had to design a wedding dress for the paper doll version of Audrey using the one material we drew from the basket. Lets just say there were some creative people in that room!

Then Audrey had to choose her favorite dress and the winner is.....

A dress made from tissue paper! :)

Next up, Staches and Tiaras. Each guest received one of each. Audrey and Brock were asked to answer the same questions about themselves, but only one answer was given to the guests and they had to decide if the answer was Brock's or Audrey's or if they answered the same. If they thought it was Brock they would hold up the mustache, if they thought it was Audrey they would hold up the tiara and if they thought it was both...you guessed it...they held up the stache and tiara! It was hilarious to say the least.

I love this picture of the cousins and Aunt Nancy with mustaches :)

T-Fizz and Grandma Katie, representing the Cutler family well :)
The food! Probably the best part. My mom is a master when it comes to satisfying everyone's likes and dislikes. The menu included fruit kabobs, veggie cups, tortilla and vegetable pin wheels, caramel corn, candy and pink lemonade! YUM!
Presents! In this picture Audrey is saying, "Seriously this is Brock's favorite thing on the registry!" :)

Happy about her shiny platter!
The Cutler Tradition. A "Someone Special" plate from Grandma Katie
This was Spencer and Reagan's masterpiece wrapping job. I realized at the end that we didn't a picture of the whole pile of gifts so I just snapped one of what was left. :)

Isn't she beautiful?

And I am just realizing now that we didn't take a whole group picture...and I'm sad about it. Sorry Audge! I love you, my baby cousin! I can't wait for your big day! I am so happy that you have found your happiness with such a great person! Let's make some married cousin memories now! :)

Thank you again to all who made this party possible!

Dominguez Duo Family Photos 2013

Photo credit: Anna Buys. Check her out!

Anna needed some models for a school project last semester. We love her and her photography so to get both of those things, and for free (another thing we love) was even better! :) Here are some of my favorites:

After the photo shoot David said, "that was fun. it reminded me of how pretty your eyes are". I love him. Thanks Anna!

Homework for the next two weeks???

NOTHING!!!!!

This is what I see when I open my school profile for homework. Now, although it is showing this, I still have things due that just aren't programmed into BrainHoney, BUT it is still exciting that only halfway through the semester I have a nothing showing up to stress me out. I remember in semesters past where my profile has shown 15+ items all the way up until the final week of school. Talk about stressful.

Needless to say, I'm happy to announce that I have nothing due (online) for two weeks.

The end.

Sore muscles, falling down, no school Mondays

**warning. this is all words, no pictures. we haven't had working cameras for awhile**

I went snowboarding on Saturday. First time ever. I was terrified and it showed when I first started. David said I caught on really fast. Even when I ended up on my face he said "that was good!". I was blessed with a good teacher that made me keep going. :) We went with two of my friends from my major and their husbands. The girls are both beginners like me and their husbands are seasoned boarders, so it was nice to have people there for David to actually go down the mountain with instead of stopping all the time for me to get back up.  I made it down once and only fell twice. Half the time my legs would get so tired that I would stop myself and sit down to rest. Heh.
Although my legs were tired on the mountain, it's my arms that are SO SORE. I fell and caught myself so much that my wrists felt like they were going to break off by the time we were done, and my arms are still weak and in so much pain. Yesterday by the 3rd and 4th verses of the songs in Sacrament meeting my arm was shaking and I think I was using every muscle in my body to keep my arm waving (I'm the ward chorister).  I can barely get my arm to a 90 degree angle. Pathetic. BUT the good news is...I liked snowboarding enough to tell David I want my own gear someday! Sooner rather than later. :) That made him excited.

This morning everything is covered in ice. The roads have black ice galore, our apartment stairs are covered and the sidewalks are probably the worst. David walked out to start the car this morning and slid/fell down the first set of stairs, then I opened to door to see if he was okay and he was slipping on the second set. We made it to campus okay, but before I was even out of the parking lot David texted me and said "Almost fell again". Then while on the way home I watched a girl slip a little and catch herself on her knee, then another girl totally biffed it and was like flat on her stomach with papers flying everywhere. Like in movies. It was sad, but I sorta laughed. :-/

This semester I have declared Monday's "No School Monday's". Not because I don't have classes, but because the one class I do have (which is 3.5 hours) gets cancelled every Monday or we have a Monday holiday. The first day of school was a Monday and that's the only time all semester I've actually gone. The class I have is working in a Kindergarten classroom in Rigby. I'm supposed to go every Monday and Wednesday. It's turned into just a Wednesday class. Heh. I have planned multiple lessons to teach and have only taught two of them. Last night I even thought "the weather has been pretty calm this week, I'll bet tomorrow is my first Monday"...false. Slick roads=no AM Kindergarten. The worst part about it, no one ever knows if schools will be closed until at the earliest 7am. So I am always up and almost completely ready before I get the call that they've cancelled. I wish I could just sleep in, but I don't want to risk it because I'm sure the one day I sleep in, school won't be cancelled. Oh well! Here's to hoping I'll go next Monday!

Life is good. This is a pretty calm semester compared to the last few for David (no chemistry!!!) He's doing really well in all of his classes (97% on his first biology test!) and this is my last semester with a full credit load. SO happy. Only 6 more credits after this semester. Graduation here I come!
